Located in the village of Embrosneros in the Apokoronas area of Chania, the brand new (2022) property offers a villa and events venue nestled in a picturesque and tranquil environment.

Designed in a minimal and organic style, the comfortable accommodation includes 2 adjacent/connected stone houses, and a large terrace with infinity pool and lovely Cretan landscape views. The larger house includes a bedroom, a bathroom, and a living room with an open kitchen. The smaller house includes a bedroom, a bathroom, and a kitchenette. The roof terrace with built-in sofa, is another perfect spot to enjoy the views.

The covered outdoor dining area is located between the 2 houses, and the pool and other exterior areas are shared between them.

The events venue part of the property offers a lovely chapel with spacious grounds, as well as an open-air main event area for up to 120 guests. This area has private bathroom facilities and a large separate room to accommodate the needs of catering or other venue staff.

Markakis Estate is a distinctive private property and events venue, nestled in the picturesque, calm village of Embrosneros in the Apokoronas area of Chania. Built on the land of the Markakis family, its organic infrastructure is nestled below the few houses of the upper village built in the beginning of the 20^th century. The lovely and authentic main village square is a 20 leisurely minute walk downhill from the property. Here you’ll find a mini market, a local bakery, an old fashioned Greek kafeneio, and a family run taverna serving best local delicacies.

The Tower of Alidakis, built around the 16^th century and the impressive stone Amphitheatre dated to modern times, are the nearest and within walking distance main attractions of the area.

The estate’s perfect location connects you within a 40-minute drive to the best of Crete: the towns of Chania and Rethymnon, as well the southern village of Sfakia from where you can take day trips along the coast of the Libyan Sea and explore its hidden gems such as the villages of Loutro and Agia Roumeli by the exit of the Samaria Gorge. The nearest seaside village is Georgioupoli with its 18 km sandy beach, is only a located 20 min drive from Markakis Estate.
