Lovely studio-house in Chora Sfakion, on the south coast of Crete. Sfakia is the name of the municipality, and Chora Sfakion is the main village, a beautiful village, rich in history, with whitewashed houses, a hilly landscape with high mountains behind it, and lovely views of the surrounding coast and the endless sea.
The house is 84 m2 plus a balcony and a garden. The property has stunning sea views, views to the magnificent mountains, and views to part of this southern coastline. The house is within walking distance to the beach in the village, as well as to shops and restaurants. The ground floor includes a kitchen, a bathroom with shower and a room with a wardrobe. Opposite the front door and across the small country lane is the garden. On the first floor there is a spacious living room with sofa bed for 3, and mezzanine with a double bed.
In total there are 5 beds.
The property derives its name from the white well in the garden. In the older times, this well supplied the entire village with water, and was a gathering place for the village residents.
Chora Sfakion is the perfect is the starting point for exploring the beautiful south coast of Crete. The owner of the house offers boat rentals, organized boat trips, taxi-boat etc. See Notos Mare Marine Adventures
The area has countless opportunities for hiking and exploring the beautiful and awe-inspiring ravines and mountains. Sfakia is famous for its approximately 50 ravines, the most famous being Samaria, Imbros, and Aradena. From Sfakia on a clear day one can glimpse the islands of Gavdos and Gavdopoula, 22 nautical miles south of Crete (link below). Gavdos with its 50 inhabitants is a small, beautiful green island with unforgettable sandy beaches and views. You can reach Gavdos by ferry or by an organized boat trip.

Notos Well ist eine wunderschöne Unterkunft. Die Lage am Hang über Chora Sfakion ermöglicht einen einzigartigen Blick auf das Meer. Gleichzeitig ist man zu Fuß in wenigen Minuten an der Promenade mit Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Die Gegend ist toll, die kleinen Orte am Wasser und die schönen Strände sind einmalig. Sfakia ist eine ganz besonderer Teil von Kreta und Notos Well ist der perfekte Ort, um ihn zu erkunden. Besonders schön sind die Panoramasicht aus dem Wohnzimmer und der kleine private Garten. Die Gastgeberinnen Alexandra und Xristina waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ein perfektes Airbnb!

At Notos Well we enjoyed the most hospitable Airbnb stay we’ve experienced yet. Christina was our primary contact for our stay and she was lovely. She greeted us at check in and spoke with us daily to ensure we were having a pleasant stay. Notos Mare, the boating company they own, also provided a very nice private boat excursion experience. We stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it. The house is beautiful, calm, and just has that feeling of being well taken care of. The interior is very nice and it feels especially homey for a rental. Everything was clean and comfortable, and it all felt really easy and relaxed from the moment we arrived. The owners were super friendly and helpful, always around if we needed anything and full of great tips for places to eat, swim, explore—you name it. We went on boat trips to beaches you can only get to by sea, which ended up being some of the best moments of the trip. Sfakia is such a unique spot. Quiet, local, and completely unspoiled. We spent our days swimming, hiking, eating good food, and just slowing down. It’s the kind of place you instantly feel at home in. The house has everything you need, from amenities and even free parking for the whole area! Would go back in a second.

10/10 recommend - everything was absolutely perfect during our 10 day stay in Chora Sfakion! Just like you can read in the other reviews, this Airbnb didn’t only feel like home the minute you walked in, but also had every single thing you‘d need to make your stay absolutely perfect. Xrisrina, the lovely house manager, welcomed us on our first day with fresh melons from their own garden (which we were allowed to visit whenever to get fresh tomatoes, melons, cucumbers and so much more), showed us around and was absolutely amazing with her support during our stay - whether it was answering questions, giving us recommendations for beaches nearby or great offers for boat trips which we highly (!!) recommend by the way - it was so much more than your usual support which we are incredibly grateful for. You have everything you’d need close-by - a lovely bakery, small but well stocked supermarkets and don’t get me started with the absolutely stunning beaches.. we will be back for sure!

Notos Well is a perfect home away from home. Alexandra provided plenty of local information and Christina is the onsite host Christina is a wonderfully welcoming host. Nothing is too much trouble. On arrival Christina showed us her garden where we could pick our own tomatoes, courgettes and melons… heavenly! My partner had acute tooth ache and Christina quickly arranged a dental appointment for him. The house is perched on the hillside and it’s a 10 minute walk down into Sfaklia which is a very pretty and welcoming small town with plenty of restaurants. The path down is next to the close by taverna and easy to navigate. There is a small beach in the town and many a short drive away. We visited Frangokastello a lovely wide beach with a useful supermarket complimenting the smaller mini markets in Sfakia. We rented a boat -from Notos Mare, also owned by Christina and her family and the staff there treated us like old friends as well. All in all a wonderful stay with a fabulous host!

This place is fantastic. Two outdoor seating areas both with breath-taking views facing west so you can watch the sunset. We were there in December during Christmas and they had a nice wood burning stove to help warm the house in addition to an electric heater. There is nothing like the ambiance of a wood burning stove. They provided all of the firewood. They also had a fully stocked kitchen. It was an easy walk to town with all the restaurants. Almost all of which were closed when we went. The beaches are a walkable distance. One of the highlights was the Aradena gorge, a 30-minute drive. The trailhead is in a beautiful ancient town. The hike is technically challenging due to loose rocks. Honestly, one of my favorite things was the area. Off season, it is incredibly quiet and peaceful. I loved seeing all the goats and sheep on the hillsides. One thing to note is the bedroom is on the third floor and the bathroom is on the first floor. This was not an issue for us.

Notos studio became my home from the first minute of arrival. Alexandra was very helpful with the logistics of getting there and gave precise instructions. Kristina greets you like and old friend with fruits, wine, her honey and more. The house is spotless, great kitchen to cook feasts and super comfortable bed with cotton linens. The walled outdoor dining area with lounge chairs under the lemon tree is perfect to read and see sunsets. The. village is 8 minutes walk downhill with great restaurants and tavernas and 2 well stocked grocery stores. Trails to hike are nearby and ferries and buses can take you all over the coast and in the nearby villages and Chania. The hospitality is legendary and all I want to do is come back. already booked to return. thank you Alexandra and Kristina for making this return trip everything I dreamed of.

Beautiful place to stay and explore a lovely part of Crete. Accommodation is as nice as the photos, peaceful yet still able to walk to tavernas and beach. The ferry to Loutro was great to do, the waters are so blue & clear. Hiring a car is needed to see more of the area and other beaches. So nice to be among locals, so friendly, and taste delicious local food. Would definitely recommend staying with Xristina - great, helpful host. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Staying at Notos Well studio house was a dream come true for us. It was absolutely beautiful. The natural scenery, the exquisite beaches and village this house is located within is beyond spectacular! Situated in the surrounds of a beautiful little village. It was the most heavenly and relaxing stay. Our host Christina was extremely kind and generous in her sharing of their family vegetable garden and recommending many local activities to do. We loved that we could live amongst the locals and that this accommodation was so incredibly private and easy to stay in. Within this area, you are spoilt for beaches and many lovely charming tavernas to sit and delight in the local food. I recommend having your own car but try not to arrive late at night like we did because it is a little tricky to find in the dark- But this village is so friendly and gorgeous, that one of the locals showed us how to get to Noto's, at 1.00am in the morning.

We (family with 2 kids) had a wonderful stay. The place and view is super nice! We were able to eat outside a few times (incl. BBQing and the delicious veggies we got from Christina freshly out of her & her husband’s garden - thanks again!!!). It was also easy to walk down to the different Tavernas, bakery & small shops - they are all good & it‘s worth it go to different ones! Also the different beaches & hiking areas are easy to reach by car or boat. You only should be careful when it‘s windy, as the boats & ferry don‘t drive anymore. on such days you can also go and visit one of the towns. Overall we can definitely recommend and would love to come again sometime.

What a find! Absolutely stunning home and surroundings. If you’re looking for a peaceful break with breath taking surroundings this is for you. Christina was the perfect host who couldn’t offer enough - local recommendations and ultra helpful. She even cut some fresh produce from the garden for us, which we used for a divine fresh salad which we enjoyed in the stunning garden. She prepared the fireplace for us. And her husband owns the local boat hire place - she arranged this all for us and he was so helpful when we rented the boat for the day - a wonderful experience. Can’t recommend highly enough. The house was perfect with wonderful views of the sea and coast. The decor was very nice and cosy. The kitchen was perfectly equipped. We cooked a lot and were also allowed to get vegetables and herbs from the garden. The hosts Christina + husband were very welcoming and took care of everything perfectly. Wir hatte eine fantastische Zeit in der Villa Olvia auf Kreta! Die durchdachte Einrichtung und Ausstattung der Villa haben unseren Aufenthalt wirklich angenehm gemacht. Man konnte sorglos die Sonne auf den bequemen Liegen genieße, sich gelegentlich ein Getränk aus dem Außenkühlschrank nehmen oder zur Abkühlung in dem Pool springen. Die Lage mitten in der Natur mit den schattigen Bäumen am Pool war einfach großartig. Der Vermieter war äußerst hilfsbereit und stand jederzeit mit wertvollen Tipps zur Verfügung. Ich kann diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt empfehlen und freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch!

The house was very nice and we really liked the terrasse above the village and the sea. Close enough to the center with all the restaurants, and far enough to be in a really quiet environment. From Chora Sfakion, it is very easy to go to Glyka Nera, Loutro or Marmara. Great place. We recommend.

Tolle Unterkunft, großes modernes Haus mit drei offenen Ebenen. Sehr gut ausgestattete Küche. Toller Balkon mit Sicht über den Ort und das Meer und herrlicher Sitzplatz und Liegestühle vor der Tür (dazwischen nur ein kleiner Fußweg) unterm einem Schatten spendenden Zitronenbaum. Im Garten beim Haus darf man Salat und Gemüse ernten! Nur ca 700 m bis runter zum Meer an den Hafen, zu den Tavernen und ins Zentrum meist über einen Fußweg sehr gut zu gehen, zurück muss man 65 Höhemmeter überwinden.

We loved it here. The house was beautifully done with lovely views out over the sea. The balcony was a great place to watch the sunset from and the little garden was perfect. There are lots of lovely places to eat a 5 / 10 min walk down the hill from the house. The bakery (ntourountous) had great coffee and was really good for breakfast and lunch either eat in or take away. Despina is amazing for cakes! We did some good hikes in the nearby area and hired a boat for the day through Notos Dive Centre which was a lovely way to see different beaches. We highly recommend staying here!

Notos Well is even lovelier than its photos. If you want a quiet peaceful holiday in the glorious scenary of Sfakion and can manage stairs and a hill then this place is perfect. We have spent many a contented hour in the wee lemon tree garden just enjoying the views and the sunsets from the balcony have been delightful. There is a brilliant taverna just a few minutes walk away so there is no need to head right into Hora Sfakion for an evening meal as great food is practically on site. Alexandra is a great host and very kindly sorted out taxis for us to and from the airport so there was no need for the bother of car hire which has been a real relaxation bonus for us. There really aren't enough nice things we can say about our stay, and we highly recommend it.

Traumhaftes Airbnb Super Kommunikation Viele Liebe im Detail Die Zitronenbaumterasse mit den Katzen hat uns verzaubert und der Meerblick von der Terasse oder auch vom Balkom ist wunderschön. If you value nature, privacy and tranquility, this is an exceptionally beautiful place with stunning views! A truly unique house, sparkling clean with beautiful decoration on every detail. Fabulous bedding and fluffy towels, electric blinds for a good sleep, cleaning service during your stay (for longer than 3 days) and superbly equipped kitchen to top up the luxury. The balcony and garden (around the lemon tree) have complete privacy, unless you mind the odd cat strolling around for breakfast... The hosts, Christina and Damoulis are most kind, as well as efficient. The location is truly serene, you can spend hours watching the mountains and the sea from your balcony. If you get the chance to rent a boat (the hosts makes it super easy) you can visit remote beaches and places that no car can go. To get to the local tavernas at the port you can walk (10 mins or 5 mins downhill if you spot the shortcut) and given some of the portions there you will need the exercise on the way up!

Ein von außen unscheinbares Haus. Beim Betreten sofort ein olala Gefühl. Sowas von Geschmackvoll, Sauber und Modern, einfach Klasse. Im 1. Stock ein Balkon und unten eine Terrasse unterm Zitronenbaum zum entspannen. Eins der am besten ausgestatteten Häusern die wir bisher gebucht haben. Und es waren schon viele. Wir waren begeistert.

All round amazing. The apartment is stunning, the lemon tree garden is a lovely place to sit (if you visit, please say hello to the friendly cats, especially the grey tabby!). Easy to walk into town where there’s plenty of bars and restaurants. Ferry rides are also easy to Loutro and Sweetwater (you can walk if you like). Our hosts were so friendly and helpful. This was an easy and wonderful stay. I was at Notos Well for a month and enjoyed every minute of it. The view is spectacular, the neighborhood is quiet, and Damulis was very hospitable & helpful host. I was there in February and the house is heated with hot water via a woodstove which was effective and very easy to use. Although many of the tourist spots in Sfakion are closed in the off-season, there are tons of trails, gorges, and footpaths to explore. I highly recommend renting a car to take full advantage of the island.

Wir haben uns von der ersten Minute an super wohl in dem wunderschönen Haus von Alexandra und Damoulis gefühlt. Das Haus ist mit sehr viel Liebe gebaut und eingerichtet. Die Sonnenuntergänge von dort aus sind traumhaft und auch zu Fuss ist man sehr schnell unten am Hafen, wo es an der Promenade eine gute Auswahl an Restaurants und einen kleinen Strand gibt. Ein weiterer Stand ist in ca. 10 Minuten Fahrtzeit erreichbar. Wir haben uns in dem Haus und kleinen Garten wunderbar erholt und haben die Privatsphäre sehr genossen. Alexandra und Damoulis waren jederzeit erreichbar und haben uns tolle Tipps gegeben. Die Kombination Berge und Meer haben uns extrem gut gefallen. Wir kommen gerne wieder und können das Haus wärmstens weiterempfehlen!

Lemon tree heaven. The Well House is such a generous and comfortable space, beautifully designed and decorated and full of lovely luxurious touches. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept on in Greece. We loved waking up to a huge window full of sky and sea and sitting out at night playing backgammon beneath the lemon tree. Sfakia is a delightful village too, with great tavernas. A quiet relaxing place, just what we wanted. Alexandra and Christina are prompt and attentive hosts. We’d love to come back.

This was our best air bnb experience to date. The home is even more fabulous than it appears. (Though I would say that the walk to the village and beach might be considered a challenge for those with mobility issues. There is parking in the village if walking is not your jam.). Alexandra’s communication was always timely, clear and thorough. She and her counterpart Damulis made sure that our every need and interest was addressed. Having a local connection in Damulis meant no worries and being treated like family by those in the village. Ευχάριστω πολλή for a magical experience. We cannot wait to return!

Sehr schönes Haus am oberen Ortsrand Das Haus liegt in ruhiger Lage am oberen Ortsrand mit Blick auf die Bucht, Meer und Berge. Die Gestaltung ist modern und offen. Im Erdgeschoss finden sich eine große Küche, ein Bad und ein offener Raum zum Verstauen der Kleidung. Im mittleren Geschoss ein großer Wohnraum mit riesigem Panoramafenster und schönem Blick. Über eine weitere Treppe erreicht man auf der Galerie den offenen Schlafbereich (super Betten!). Ein absolutes Highlight ist der Terrassenbereich, schön gestaltet und wunderbar zum Sitzen unter dem alten Zitronenbaum. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Empfang und Verabschiedung durch den Hausbesitzer waren herzlich und professionell. Die Kommunikation mit Alexandra von der vermittelnden Agentur ebenfalls perfekt.

Notos Well was brilliant from day one. Spread over three floors with a fully equipped kitchen, beautiful furniture and air conditioning. Scrupulously clean and supplied with toiletries for the bathroom and wine in the fridge. The view from the large balcony was absolutely stunning sea, sky, mountains and the odd sheep. Outside a small paved area shaded by a lemon tree with barbecue and sun loungers (beach towels provided) behind this there were chickens (free eggs) and a vegetable garden for our salad supplies. Our host was nearby and nothing was too much trouble. Perfection indeed.

One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The house is great and the town and nature that surrounds it are impressive. We really enjoyed having breakfast under the lemon tree overlooking the ocean. Damulis, the owner is one of the nicest people in the world. We met him shortly but he earned a place in our hearts. We had a great vacation at Damulis' AirBnB. The house is situated on a slope with three levels. On the lower level you will find a functional spacious kitchen and household appliances, a bathroom and dressing room. On this level there is also a small private terrace outside the house. There you will find a table, bench and deck chairs. There is a lemon tree, which makes it wonderfully Mediterranean. Having breakfast there was idyllic, also because of the great view. On the middle level you will find an inviting couch and a terrace. One more level up is the sleeping area. Everything is tastefully furnished and very clean. In the garden grow figs, melons, aubergines, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes. We were allowed to take the fresh eggs from the chickens for breakfast. To the village with some taverns, a pharmacy, a minimarket and a very nice bakery it is about 10 minutes walk. Damulis was a great host and made sure that we felt completely comfortable. We also recommend to rent a boat from Damulis in Notos Mare. It is directly at the harbour and with the boats you can go to lonely bays and spend a nice day. We wish we could have stayed longer. Nous avons été super bien accueillis par Damulis, qui nous a expliqué la maison, l’accès au potager et au poulailler, il nous a fait goûter les tomates et les figues du jardin : un délice! Nous invitant à le solliciter quel que soit le sujet, il très sécurisant. Quelle joie de profiter du potager et des œufs frais! Damulis est aussi le propriétaire de Notos Mare, il loue des bateaux avec ou sans permis, organise des excursions plus lointaines et des plongées. Il a été extrêmement facilitant pour tout notre séjour. Sfakia est une chouette destination : excursions en bateau, randonnées, jolies plages, proximité avec la montagne (gorges d’Aradena, ou d’Imbros, l’accès à Samaria est un peu loin 3h00 de route), la Canée est à 1h15, très jolie ville à visiter. Bref, une agréable destination dans un environnement charmant, simple et authentique. Et si vous allez au lac de Kournas, arrêtez vous à la taverne de Georgia ( Georgia’s traditionnal Taverna) vous serez accueillis très chaleureusement et mangerez une cuisine délicieuse et traditionnelle : un bonheur!! A quelques minutes à pieds de la maison, en remontant, le café Thea, a une vue incroyable sur tout Sfakia avec des cocktails délicieux et une musique très agréable. Vous pourrez apprécier le coucher du soleil sur la montagne autrement que depuis les terrasses de la maison, c’est tout autant splendide. Cotés plages, Illingas recèle bien plus de trésors si vous l’explorer en nageant vers la gauche de la plage (caves communicantes) Marmara est très jolie, cette plage se situe à la sortie des gorges d’Aradena, magnifique randonnée à faire avec départ en taxi de la maison et se faire récupérer sur la plage par un taxi boat.

Amazing getaway on the southern coast of Crete! The house is exactly as pictured, if anything it exceeded expectations in person! We were welcomed with wine and water in the fridge, and given a bottle of local olive oil as a goodbye gift from Stelios! Incredible views of the coast from the balcony, the house is nicely secluded from the actual town centre itself, but only about a 10 minute walk to get to all the restaurants and pier for activities. Make sure you take a private boat for the day from Notos Dive Centre, we had the best day visiting beautiful smaller beaches only accessible by boat, and did some amazing snorkeling! Thank you to Alexandra, Damilus, Joanna and Stelios for all your kind hospitality, we will definitely be back!

Lovely, stylish studio house… located about 10 minutes’ walk outside the town…bit of a steep walk but worth it if you like being away from the hustle and bustle. The house is very comfortable with the great benefit of a beautiful outdoor terrace where you can watch the sun go down over the bay. It was nice to have wine chilling in the fridge when we arrived and a plate of fruit available to us.

Beautiful. This house is modern and comfortable. It is a lovely, winding walk up the hill from the bay. We watched incredible sunsets from the terrace under the lime tree! The home owner gave us fresh melon, tomatoes and eggs from the garden. The whole experience was dreamy!

The pictures do this place justice, and even then it has something more! It is wonderful. The village is picture perfect, quiet but with a wonderful local community. There are lots of lovely tavernas looking out over the harbour which serve delicious local delicacies, including fresh fish caught locally. The beaches are quiet but active, with wonderful water full of fish for your snorkelling needs. Great local villages and walks too, and the host was brilliant – east contact throughout and so welcoming. The apartment is one of the best we have stayed in. You will love it all!

Lovely stay, enjoyed both the house, the village and the region! The house is exactly as advertised, stylish, clean and well situated a few hundred meters from the village center and the village beaches. Damoulis and Alexandra were both perfect hosts, and took great care of us. A few highlights: Collecting fresh eggs and vegetables for breakfast in the garden every morning. Long brunches in the shade under the lemon tree. Renting a small motor boat from Damoulis’ company, and exploring the coastline in our own. Spending lazy days on the Ilingas and sweet water beaches. (Don’t miss the secret beaches around the corner from Ilingas. Dinner at Anopolis half way up the mountains. Evening runs in the surrounding hills, on donkey trails and country roads. Already looking forward to returning!

Hands down the cleanest we ever stayed at! The place was spotless when we arrived and a nice lady came twice during our stay to refresh the house and change towels and sheets. The house itself is great! A brand new kitchen to cook in, super comfortable bed, a nice balcony to enjoy a drink in the evening and an outdoor area in the shade of a lemon tree to relax in the afternoon. We even had access to fresh eggs and veggies from the garden, which was a treat! The owner Damulis is simply put the nicest guy ever: very helpful, warm and generous! This was a 5 stars stay for us!

Excellent lieu pour découvrir un bout de la côte Sud, entre mer et montagnes. Le loft se trouve dans un petit hameau juste au dessus de la station d'Hora Sfakion. La vue est très agréable depuis le séjour et depuis le balcon. L'appartement est très bien équipé, idéal pur un couple. Un super séjour!

Wow...was für eine Unterkunft... einfach nur fantastisch. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und es sehr genossen. Das Haus ist sehr stylisch und perfekt ausgestattet...es hat uns wirklich an nichts gefehlt. Beim Frühstück oder Sonnenuntergang auf der Terrasse unter dem Zitronenbaum ist wirklich ein Traum. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert....wir kommen gerne wieder!

Amazing place, even better than the pictures: so clean, super stylish and comfortable.. we’ve had such a lovely relaxing stay in beautiful Sfakia, we really hope to be back. The sea is out of this world - clear and blue and warm. We visited sweetwater by boat, and the beaches in the village were great, but found that the beach at Ilingas was just perfect for us - a 20 min walk where there are some great caves for shade and its a good spot for swimming and snorkelling. Thank you despoina for your kind hospitality, the little touches are sometimes the most important - the wine waiting in the fridge and the bowl of fruit to welcome us, and the kids loved collecting eggs for breakfast and aubergines for dinner. The house is so well equipped, great kitchen and bathroom and everything was spotless, can’t rate this beautiful place highly enough.. We just loved our stay in Crete!!

We loved our stay in this property which is exactly as described and seen in the photos. Damoulis and Despina were fantastic hosts who gave us access to their veggie garden and fresh farm eggs. This was the perfect base for exploring nearby beaches including our favorite ‘Glyka nera’ and Loutro is also worth a visit. We recommend Imbros gorge an easy 8km hike, Despina’s coffee and Samaria tavern where the chef Christos dishes out delicious food. Be careful where you park in the centre and the port because you can get a parking fine. Alexandra we loved our stay and appreciate the gift of wine and fruit on arrival. Thanks again Dimitra

We really enjoyed our stay in this gorgeous, beautifully kept house and Chora Sfakion was a great place for a relaxed holiday by the sea. Beaches were not crowded in comparison to some of the other places we stayed and we kayaked to totally empty beaches. Tavernas were great - the freshest fish we ate. The owners of the property were lovely - and made sure we were Ok with everything - they couldn’t have been more helpful. They own the dive centre and if you like diving or want to hire a boat - this is a great place to do this. They even allowed us to take vegetables and eggs from the garden - it was total relaxation and idyllic for us. We hope very much to return.

Damulis und Desbina sind sehr nette und bemühte Eigentümer, Damulis gibt gerne Auskunft über Aktivitäten und besitzt einen Bootsverleih und Tauchtrips bietet er auch noch an. Wir haben (Meine Frau und ich) den Aufenthalt in diesem schönen Studio sehr genossen, Chora Sfakion und Umgebung ist sehr zu empfehlen wenn man gerne wandert und unternehmungslustig ist.Es gibt viele Möglichkeiten zum Essen (sehr gut und Preise sind ok) die Leute sind sehr freundlich, alles super!!! Wow! What a beautiful pocket of Crete. Alexandra, Damilus and all down at the diving centre were so welcoming and hospitable. Nothing was too much trouble. The apartment is incredible, we loved waking up to views of the ocean and sunset drinks in the garden. I'd highly recommend renting a little boat from the diving centre and hiking down Aradena Gorge to Marmara Beach where you will enjoy the most delicious lunch overlooking what was easily our favourite beach! Thanks for the recommendations Alexandra! The village quickly felt like home which made leaving a all the more difficult. Get in quick and book this little gem, we've recommended it to all our family and friends so it's bound to be booked out soon!

We searched extensively, in a number of towns, for the right place to stay on Crete’s southern coast and were thrilled when we came across Notos Well on AirBnB. And more thrilled when we saw it in person. Attractively set in a quiet residential spot above the harbor, but a short walk down to it, the home is extremely well-appointed and tastefully decorated with all the modern touches one might want. The mezzanine deck and especially the garden are amazing spots to bliss out on the gorgeous, expansive view and on your good fortune for being in southern Crete. We found Sfakia to be a charming town and a smart place to base from with terrific hiking, gorgeous beaches and interesting sites easily accessible. And the people who live and work in the area were incredibly warm and welcoming. Alexandra was out of the country during our stay but was totally on-point with all communication and in her instructions to meet Damulis, who owns the home, when we arrived. Speaking of Damulis , he is such a great guy and epitomizes Cretan hospitality. Thank you Damulis and Alexandra. We hope to be back soon.

This little converted stone house in Chora Sfakion is impeccably decorated, immaculate, appointed with everything you might need (pots/pans, electric kettle, juicer, little toiletries) as well as all the add-ons you that make a stay extra special (candles, comfortable and well-decorated indoor/outdoor space, air conditioning, beautiful coffee table books about Crete, wine, fresh mountain greens, melons, lemons, eggs available from the garden!) Damulis, the host, is a laid back guy with great energy (he felt akin to some of our friends in Southern California!) One morning I awoke to the sound of so many bells and headed out to see what the clatter was - so many goats just meandering by! It was an ethereal experience! During our stay we rented a boat from Notos Mare and had a wonderful experience working with Sofia. We headed to the beaches only accessible by boat (Ag. Roumeli, Glyka Nera, Marmara) and had delicious Octopus by the sea at the tavern in Marmara. We hiked Aradena Gorge from top to bottom which was an easy downhill hike that took us about 3hrs - gorgeous and quiet! Overall our experience in Chora Sfakion was beautiful - our only gripe is that we didn't stay longer! Our stay was absolutely wonderful - the best end to an stunning honeymoon. Chora Sfakion is a special place and I absolutely loved the accommodation. Thank you Alexandra and Damulis for everything!

Unser Aufenthalt in dieser Unterkunft in Chora Sfakion war traumhaft. Das Haus ist super ausgestattet. Alles was man braucht findet man vor Ort (komplett ausgestattete Küche mit Geschirrspüler, sämtlichen Töpfen, Pfannen, Besteck, sogar ein Weber-Grill). Auch das Bad ist für Besucher gut ausgestattet (kleine Duschutensilien, Cremes etc.). Die gesamte Wohnung ist sehr sauber. Das absolute Highlight der Unterkunft ist die Terrasse: Blick aufs Meer, direkt unter einem Limettenbaum (dessen Früchte einfach super schmecken), Tisch mit Stühlen, 3 Liegen. In der Unterkunft lebt man mitten unter den Einheimischen. Hotels bzw. Ferienwohnungen sind weiter weg und wenn dann auch nur sehr klein. Der Gastgeber Damulis passt super zur Unterkunft. Super netter Kerl, der nebenbei auch noch einige Sprachen (Deutsch, Griechisch, Englisch etc.) spricht - man kann sich also auf jeden Fall mit ihm verständigen. Er zeigt einem alles, was man wissen muss. Man kann ihn auch immer anrufen, wenn man Fragen zum Haus oder zur Umgebung hat. Außerdem betreibt er die Tauchschule und den Bootsverleih vor Ort. Er hilft einem auch sehr gerne dabei, Ausflüge oder dergleichen zu organisieren. Wenn gerade etwas reif ist im Gemüsegarten, darf man sich auch etwas von den sehr guten Früchten oder dem guten Gemüse zum Kochen klauen. Alles in allem kann man diese Unterkunft nur empfehlen.

La maison est parfaite. Conforme en tout point à la description et plus encore: la terrasse, le potager et ses délicieux melons et même les œufs des poules! La location est extrêmement bien entretenue, très propre, très spacieuse, très bien équipée ( cuisine, salle de bain, etc). Linge de maison, savon, shampooing, petit cadeau d'accueil... De la terrasse et de la Maison, vue splendide sur toute la baie de Sfakia, coucher de soleil compris. La maison est située en haut du village, ce qui oblige à une petite grimpette (10m max à pied) depuis La plage et le village, sans difficulté même sous le soleil d'août ! L'accueil par Damulis (propriétaire) est très chaleureux, précis et sérieux. La préparation du sejour avec Alexandra, par mail ou l'appli, très précise et sérieuse aussi. Un conseil: louer un bateau à moteur (sans licence) au Diving Center de Damulis, sur le port, et découvrir les plages inaccessibles par voie de terre, dans la baie de Sfakia. Merci pour votre aide et vos bons conseils. Merci beaucoup aussi à Damulis et aussi à Sofia! Notre séjour fut parfait!

Notos Well was a wonderful place to stay. Alexandra was truly worthy of her special host status! We loved the stylish interior, the rustic garden, the breathtaking views and the sound of the goat bells on the nearby mountainside. The short walk back from the harbour was just enough to work off some of the delicious food we enjoyed at many of the local tavernas! Visiting Despina's cafe for cake is a must - she bakes through the night to create scrumptious (& extremely generous sized) puddings! Chora Sfakion is an undiscovered gem and we recommend a visit, especially staying in such a beautiful house. A truly positive experience! We had the most perfect stay at Notos Well. We loved the house and its location overlooking the bay. It was a real bonus meeting you Alex - you were so welcoming and such a generous host. Our day swimming through the caves, laughing and eating delicious lamb and home baked bread with you in Marmara (not to mention those amazing WCs!!) was truly unforgettable. Thank you so much for everything you and Damulis did for us- you're a great team!

The 28th of August we left Chora Sfakion with a lot of sadness. We've spent such a beautiful holidays we are going to remember for a long time! The house is really beautiful, airy, full of light and big openspace, well furnished, simply lovely. The housekeeping is very professional. Sheets and towels are new, fresh and proper. Perfect air conditioning, washing machine, dishwasher, kettle, oven, microwave... nothing missing! We loved the beautiful terrace, where we were used to eat, take the sun and read under the old lemon tree; we loved particularly the backyards, too, with hens that I love and with fresh vegetables to be picked and cooked in the perfectly equipped kitchen. The wifi satisfied our 2 adolescents. It seems to be in a 5 stars hotel! Don't loose to have a boat trip with Damulis: a beautiful gentleman, the Poseidon of Chora Skakion! Sofia, the delicious "Octopus" of Notos Mare Marine Adventures at the port, will organize everything with him. With Damulis we visited Gavdos island and there we left our heart. Thank you Alexandra! Hora Sfakia is a quite small town with a beautiful harbour and nice restaurants. Alexandra and Damulis arranged a sailing trip to the Marmara Beach - we had a very lovely lunch there, and the sea has the most beautiful turquoise colour.
